Know your angles
About FaceShapes
FaceShapes is an independent publication about face shapes: how to measure yours accurately, and what the evidence says about choosing styles that work with your features.
It is written by The FaceShapes Editorial Team, part of a small group of style-and-beauty sites from one publisher. The same team builds facial-measurement software, which is why measurement accuracy is the obsession here: when we say a jaw is wider than a forehead, that claim comes from geometry, not vibes. The group is disclosed on every site in it; there are no hidden connections between our publications.
What makes these guides different
- Every claim is labeled. research-backed means peer-reviewed support, cited; mixed evidence means real caveats, stated; convention means stylist tradition, never oversold. The full system is in our editorial standards.
- No scores. We describe what styles do. We do not rate faces, and we do not moralize age.
- Tools run in your browser. Quizzes and calculators process everything on your device. Your answers and photos are not uploaded. Details in our privacy note.
- Original diagrams. The illustrations are drawn for these articles: no stock, no AI-generated faces.
Who is accountable
Guides are drafted with research tools and AI assistance, then fact-checked and edited by a human editor before anything publishes. The editorial team is accountable for every word, and we answer our mail. Read how our guides are made, including our AI disclosure and corrections policy.
